THE OPPORTUNITY THAT APPEARS AFTER TIREDNESS (2018-)
What is a postcard? It’s a fragile object, but of enormous political power.
This project wishes to investigate the possibilities of poetic, visual, compositional, choreographic, and dramaturgical work of personal and collective Memory in relation to work materials: a huge collection of postcards sent from Cuba to family and friends over the last 60 years. Each of these postcards has, as a documentary micro-landscape, an important role in the construction of the concrete space of a family, society, country.
This artwork is not only about delving into the past of a country like Cuba: absurd and chaotic to address issues of its present. But also, to work from issues that create synergies in other people and latitudes, such as everyday micropolitics, from the life that happens every day, from a reality that is that of many people who feel exiled or migrants (even living within their own place of origin). +info HERE.
